A silver tabby she-cat was prowling through the undergrowth hoping to track some prey, if any. Ivypaw stalked through the dead bushes and sniffed the cold air as her breath came out if wisps of small clouds due to the cold weather. She didn't seem to smell anything when all of a sudden she spotted a mouse nibbling on a nut on the root of a tree. She carefully tested the breeze to see which way it blew. Then after she figured her way down wind of the small creature, she crept up silently. When she was within leaping distance she pounced and swiftly killed the animal. |

"Great job!" Badgerheart praised his apprentice as he padded over with a squirrel dangling from his jaws.

Ivypaw smiled at her mentor's praise. She likes doing things her own way most of the time, but when she thinks it can help her, she will obey. She wishes to become leader one day. "Thank you Badgerheart." She replied to the kind words she received from the warrior. |

Ivypaw nodded her head knowing it might be warmer over there as well. The prey would be more likely to be out and about. She then picked up her prey and took it over to a root and buried the gray creature. |

Badgerheart burrid his prey next to Ivypaw's, so he could pick it up later and then headed over to Sunning Rocks. Once he got there Badgerheart sniffed the air for any signs of prey.

Ivypaw followed Badgerheart's lead. Although, she had a little trick of her own. She bent down and placed her ear on the ground. She knew where her mentor was so she listened closely. Just then she felt movement about three fox leangths away to the upper right of the large stones. She cautiously snuck up the rocks and noticed a rabbit at the bottom of the small crevice. Although small she could still fit down. She wriggled her haunches and pounced on top of the creature, breaking its back. |

Badgerheart nodded. His apprentice was doing really well. When he smelled a water vole Badgerheart slipped intot he hunter's crouch. He stealtily crept up on the critted and then snapped its neck in his mouth. He picked it up and walked back over to Ivypaw.

Ivypaw smiled at her mentor. He was an amazing hunter! "Great catch!" She exclaimed with excitement in her musical voice. |

"It was a lucky catch," Badgerheart said. He looked at how scrawny all of the prey was. Leaf-bare was tough on the clans.

Ivypaw noticed that the prey that they had caught was pretty scrawny. She sighed knowing that this was going to be a hard leaf bare. She then turned around only to see something glittering in a nearby bush. "What in the?" She whispered. Just then a large creature burst out of the bracken. "Dog!" She hissed as the large animal ran toward them. |

Badgerheart would've told his apprentice to climb a tree and wait, but there weren't any at Sunning Rocks. Badgerheart hissed at the dog and said to Ivypaw, "Run back to camp and get another warrior. I'll keep it here." Badgerheart unsheathed his claws.

Ivypaw looked at her mentor agitation lingering in her voice. "But I want to fight!" She argued. She was well known for not listening to others when there is danger.
Solarstorm had been out on a walk thinking in her mind of who they would pick to be the new leader. She didn't mind if it wasn't her but she just hoped that they picked a sensible cat. All of a sudden she heard hisses of rage coming from the other side of the bracken. She sniffed the air and smelled the familiar scent of dog. Her hackles rose and she bared her teeth. Finally she leaped over the branches. After making a well aimed landing, she streaked forward and raked her class across the dogs throat. |

Badgerheart used all his power to leap off his hindlegs. He landed squarley ont he dog's shoulder and ripped his claws down it. The dog spun and snapped at him and Badgerheart barely leaped off. The dog's teeth scraped his pelt.

Ivypaw watched as the warriors fought. She watched as an opening came into sight. Right when the dog snapped at Badgerheart, she ran in and slashed its paws making it fall to the ground.
Solarstorm watched the masculine beast hit the ground with a thud. She then rushed in and slit the dog's throat once more for the final blow. |
